COVID-19 Back to Work Protocol
State and local authorities have begun providing guidelines for a gradual re-opening of businesses now and in the next several weeks in Texas and Louisiana. As Bottom Line Equipment employees return to work at our sites from working at home, it is extremely important that we maintain our safe work practices and protocol to limit employee exposure and control the spread of COVID-19. It’s also very important that we respect all established COVID-19 protocol while serving our customers at their sites. All employees will be required to adhere to the following guidelines:
Pre-Screening:
- We will continue to pre-screen employees and essential visitors/vendors before anyone is allowed into a Bottom Line Equipment facility.
- Everyone will have their temperature taken and will complete a pre-screening questionnaire prior to entering any site or location.
- Anyone exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or having a fever of 100.3 degrees or higher will be denied access to our facilities
Do’s & Don’ts
- Do complete the employee screening each morning before entering work.
- Don’t skip this process. To ensure all employees are safe, everyone including visitors and vendors must be pre-screened
Self-Monitoring:
- It is every employee’s responsibility to continuously monitor their health status.
- You should be self-monitoring for the following symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, pain or pressure in the chest, blueish lips or face.
- If you have any of these symptoms while at work report them to a supervisor immediately.
- If you have any of these symptoms at home, do not report to work and immediately report your status to your supervisor.
Do’s & Don’ts
- Do inform your supervisor or HR if you are experiencing fever, coughing, shortness of breath or sore throat.
- Do report anyone with noticeable symptoms to your supervisor and HR.
- Don’t assume that you are okay if you have any of the above symptoms.
Wearing Masks:
- While at work, all employees should be wearing a face mask while inside buildings within common or shared spaces.
Do’s & Don’ts
- Do have your mask available at all times in case you need to wear it.
- Don’t assume that you don’t have COVID-19 and wear your mask as a courtesy to others.
Customer Sites and Interaction:
- Before visiting customers at their sites, employees should first call and ask about established COVID-19 safety requirements for visitors. Bottom Line Equipment employees should make sure entrance to a customer facility is allowed and that all established protocol is followed.
- While at customer sites, all Bottom Line Equipment employees are required to wear masks and remain six feet from others. Distancing is important and employees should pay special attention to keep gatherings at any location to ten people or less. Until further notice, Bottom Line Equipment employees are not allowed to bring promotional items, food or any consumable to any customer only after documented approval from customer i.e., email or text. Also, Bottom Line Equipment employees are not allowed to accept/receive promotional items or food from customers.
Hand Washing:
- All employees are expected to thoroughly and frequently wash their hands with soap and water.
- Employees should wash their hands or use hand sanitizer immediately after entering any Bottom Line Equipment facility.
- Hand washing should also occur after employees touch common contact points including stairwells, door handles, copy machines, etc. Office supplies including pens, staplers, scissors, etc. should not be shared.
Do’s & Don’ts
- Do wash your hands and disinfect your workspace daily.
- Don’t share food or office supplies and don’t touch your face.
- Don’t shake hands with anyone and avoid all physical contact
Social Distancing:
- Employees are required to distance themselves from each other throughout the workday and should remain six feet away from other employees.
- No general gatherings of more than ten employees in any general area are allowed.
- High traffic areas with limited space should be monitored to proactively eliminate problems with distancing.
- Lunchrooms/kitchen areas will be restricted to a maximum of two employees at a time.
Do’s & Don’ts
- Do keep six feet between yourself and other employees. Only two employees are allowed to occupy the lunch/break room at the same time.
- Don’t crowd other employees, unnecessarily touch surfaces or come within six feet of others
- Don’t unnecessarily spend time in other employee’s offices
- Don’t share food or gather in groups
Disinfecting and Cleaning:
- All BLE sites will be disinfected throughout the day using approved disinfectant’s and cleaners.
- Employees will be assigned to a regular cleaning schedule and will be required to complete and sign a completed checklist to confirm cleaning.
- High traffic areas and commonly touched items should be cleaned thoroughly.
- These include stairwells, lunchrooms, appliances, door handles, handrails, water dispensers, etc.
Personal Responsibility:
- Personal workstations should be maintained and cleaned daily.
- Employees should not share headsets or other objects that are near their mouth or nose.
- Until further notice, employees will not congregate in break rooms or general areas.
- No general consumption or sharing of food is allowed.
- This includes breakfast in boxes, sandwich trays, pizzas, etc.
Work Environment:
- Due to COVID-19 restrictions, work assignments and locations may change to protect employees from unnecessary contact with others.
Do’s & Don’ts
- Do understand that we are working to accommodate all employees in providing a safe and healthy work environment.
- Don’t expect daily routines, building access, employee interaction and workspace to be normal
Authorized Personnel:
- The safety of all employees requires restricting access to visitors at BLE sites. Until further notice, only Bottom Line Equipment employees will be allowed access to their assigned locations. Unless prior approval is granted by management, all visitors including family members should not be entering Bottom Line Equipment facilities.
Work Schedules
- Changes to work schedules and work locations can occur quickly. Any work schedule changes will be communicated directly from HR to the employees who are affected. Employees are required daily to bring home their laptop computers and other mobile devices that are necessary to perform work at home.
Travel
- unless pre-approved by management, all business travel, overnight accommodations and changes in work schedule or location outside of your designated workspace must be communicated to your supervisor
Do’s & Don’ts
- Do be prepared to quickly change your work practices if instructed by your supervisor
- Do take your laptop home with you each day in case a work from home directive is issued.
- Don’t travel with other employees, visitors and customers in one vehicle.
**Any employee violation of these standards should be communicated to Bottom Line Equipment management and will be subject to disciplinary action. **
